Mansion House Bristol

We booked for a wedding - an amazing venue and staff were fantastic. If you get nice weather the outside and grounds are amazing for wedding

The Mansion House is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Bristol. He was holding a party, and I and my partner were invited to attend. This structure is not the original Mansion House (nor is the second). However, it has a mixed appearance that could make you think it was older than it is. There are lots of columns, wooden panelling throughout, and a large variety of paintings, sculptures, and artifacts, which give it an air of historic grandeur. The House also has extensive grounds, which can be used when the weather is more appropriate for outside use. These days, the property is predominantly used for functions, often for weddings. The facilities would provide a memorable day for most groups. On the downside, it is located on the edge of Clifton, and the roads are narrow, busy, and often congested. Parking is difficult with most on-road parking requiring payment. There is a very small amount of parking on site. The site is also going to be difficult to be of use for the less mobile. Toilets are on the first floor; there is a lift, but it's quite small. I would also caution that there is another place called the Mansion House hotel, which is several miles away; apparently some sat-nav systems confuse the two. But overall, it is a charming place with considerable history, and worth considering for holding your special event.

Completely gorgeous place to have a wedding - Parsnip Mash as venue managers were exceptional, and the building itself is beautiful. Suitable for many different functions too- various main rooms incl. 2 large ones for drinking/dining/dancing, a conservatory with bar, outside, and spacious rooms on the floor above to get ready/chill out.

I have been photographing weddings at The Mansion House since 2010 and I can honestly say it's lovely choice for Clifton wedding. There is possibility to have an outdoor ceremony in the gazebo or inside the house which is beautifully decorated. Since Parsnip Mash took over the management of the events at Mansion House the venue and service improved immensely.

We had our wedding in the Mansion House two weekends ago - outstanding venue, cannot fault it. Perfect size, beautiful architecture, both indoor and outdoor spaces, comes with a piano and a bar, Parsnip Mash dishing out amazing delicious dishes, walking distance from the village etc... Best wedding venue ever!
