Family of 5 stayed for 4 days. 2 adults, 3 kids age 6, 9 and 10. Very impressed with the Kimpton and would definitely stay again. Great location backing onto Rose Street, and 5 minute walk to the old town. Rooms were spacious and clean, I loved the coffee machine and well stocked snack box, also the Dyson hair dryer and the yoga mat included was a nice touch. The spa was excellent, lovely dimmed pool lighting and a clean sauna and steam room. The reception staff were all exemplary as were the bar and lounge staff. We enjoyed a light lunch in the garden on our first day, and the lovely american waitress couldnt do enough for us. Luxury and elegance with a touch of Scottish charm, highly recommend. Suitable for a family stay.
Stopped here for my birthday and absolutely loved it. Hotel is stunning and in a great location. Our room was fabulous we were given a free upgrade. Staff were absolutely amazing and definitely made it a birthday to remember. Will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing break
We've been to the Kimpton in Glasgow plenty of times and decided to try the edinburgh 'boutique' hotel of kimpton. As soon as we walked in, we didn't feel welcome as a man greeted us with "name?" Instead of saying "hello, welcome" etc. We also had an issue with our payment not going through and we were confused as we thought we paid this in advanced and the man did not explain it to us but the kind woman next to him took time to help us. Now onto the room, it was very small compared to the glasgow double room but we were only staying one night so thats fine. The location is amazing for edinburgh which was a bonus. I love the cottage aesthetic too but unfortunately there were stains on the carpet and walls (picture below.) We didn't bother with complaining as again it was only one night but this just didn't seem like the 5 star hotel we're familiar with. The spa was absolutely freezing and it says the pool was heated but it was not even warm. Even that aside, the whole spa room just wasnt warm and we found ourselves in the sauna just to get a heat and we even needed a hot shower when we came back to our room because it was that cold. Getting to the spa itself was also confusing as we couldn't use the lift because it apparently wouldn't take us to our room but instead the other rooms?? So we had to walk through the restaurant while in our robes Overall, I would say this is a 3 star hotel. The location is amazing, beautiful style and the garden area bar was gorgeous too. But the service we received with that man upon greeting, the stains etc it just didn't seem worth £150 for the night. Glasgow is better with service and money so I would rather spend it there
We absolutely loved our 3-day stay here. Upon arrival we were given a drink in the bar and on the second day we found a bottle of bubbly in our room with a lovely card. All staff are lovely and very attentive. We also enjoyed the spa area. We highly recommend this hotel.
Great central location, close to loads of amazing hotspots - everything felt easy to get to. The rooms were cosy, clean, and just what you want after a busy day out. Happy hour for guests was the icing on the cake! But the real standout was the service. Zoe was absolutely brilliant - attentive, supportive, friendly, and genuinely kind. She made us feel so welcome and completely at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you for your warmth and understanding. AJ was also great - helped with our bags and gave us personal recommendations that made the stay feel exciting. Would happily stay here again just for the people alone. Highly recommend!
