Marlins Wynd

We initially viewed Marlins Wynd last November and immediately fell in love with it. The size of the venue was exactly right for the numbers we were having for our wedding day. Also, the history and the energy of the place just felt right to us. So, we chose to hold our ceremony here as well as having our meal and evening boogie. The company, Unusual Venues, were very flexible with our decision of having an informal buffet and we were spoiled for choice from the menus offered. EVERYONE thought the food was fulsome and of excellent quality. We couldn't eat all of it!! Dylan and Caroline were a great help in negotiating the entire process and were always right there if we needed to ask anything. Their customer service is excellent and they always made us feel like we their number one priority. On the day, we were so well looked after by Dylan initially and then after he handed over to Chelsey, she couldn't have been more helpful. The highest standard of care and service that one would usually expect from a 5 Star/high end hotel. Truly excellent! Ours was a unique, bespoke wedding and they met us at every single stage with a wonderfully flexible approach. The whole experience was beyond all our expectations and we couldn't have asked for more. Everyone who attended, commented how amazing our wedding was and it wouldn't have been that way without the help and input of Dylan, Caroline & Chesley. 10's 10's 10's across the board!!!

We got married at Marlin's Wynd at the weekend and we genuinely couldn't have asked for a better venue. It was absolutely gorgeous and we've had so many people say they loved it. They did a perfect job of setting our decor up as we'd imagined and the staff were so helpful throughout the night, keeping us right so we didn't need to worry about anything. My new husband's mum was recently injured and was in a wheelchair for the wedding, and whilst the venue isn't accessible, they were so helpful and understanding, working with us to get her into the venue and make her as comfortable as possible. Food was brilliant and our guests were all really happy with the dinner. We're so pleased we chose Marlin's Wynd for our wedding, it was the perfect night.

Had problems finding this little establishment even with Google maps helping 😂, but hidden away down off the street front this place had a quality of its own, was in awe when first entered, up stairs to a bar with rounded ceilings as if you were in a tunnel very atmospheric. Then down stairs to the dinning area again almost like an under ground wine celler, but not much space and after a while being at the back of the room became very claustrophobic and extremely warm. Food was very good, but not sure about a big piece of bone sitting on top of my meat pie, 😳, pudding was worth the wait, waitresses and bar staff couldn't fault, thank you.

So amazing venue!! Though I am pretty sure a marlin is a fish right? There isn’t any fishing here but they do serve fish and the food was yummy. They don’t have disabled access which was a crying shame for my grandpa but he just decided to crawl down the stairs from the street level instead and said it was entirely worth it because of the yummy yummy food and the amazing venue!! Thank you Mr Wynd for serving us some yummy food. But please maybe get draught beer some day! We even have it in Belarus now!

We got married at Marlins Wynd on the 21st of November and it was honestly the most magical day of our lives. Venue is just stunning, the food was lovely and the staff are just wonderful, helpful and so attentive. Huge thank you to Caroline, Dylan and the rest of the team who did everything to help with the planning of our day, looking after us and our guest on the day and all the little details in-between. Thank you so much ❤️
