The National Museum of Scotland is an absolute gem! The museum offers an incredible variety of exhibits that cater to all ages and interests, from natural history to Scotland's rich cultural heritage. The building itself is stunning, with its iconic Victorian Grand Gallery and modern extension. The highlights for me were the fascinating sections on Scottish history, the interactive science displays, and, of course, Dolly the Sheep! The rooftop terrace also provides breathtaking views of Edinburgh. Best of all, admission is free, making it accessible for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the café had a nice selection of food. Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a fun day out, this museum is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
The museum is impressively large, with so much to explore that we decided to buy the official museum book to continue enjoying it even after our visit.
I did spend around 4 hours inside the museum,so far is the first FREE museum I get to visit and I was really Impressed by the experience, the staff was super friendly and helping with guidence around the museum. There are clockrooms /luggage storage available on the ground floor! Enjoy!
What's great to know is if you run an apartment and you can't check your bags. Because most flights come in early as you fly a red eye. You can check here in spending a few hours exploring. Get a little of bit of tea and a snack. It's a very big museum.
Mixture of stuff, few fun stuff like the racing F1 car for £1 the race. Love the stuffed animals and the giant sloth
