I used to live in Riddles Court, a charming building nestled in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage site in Edinburgh. Staying there is truly a magical experience, especially surrounded by the historic charm of the Royal Mile’s cobblestone streets. Riddles Court itself is a captivating blend of ancient and modern architecture, with traces of both centuries-old history and contemporary design visible throughout. If you stay on the top floor, you'll likely enjoy breathtaking views of the city center and nearby historic landmarks, basked in sunlight. Occasionally, you might also be welcomed by enthusiastic tour guides offering sessions, sharing fascinating stories about the rich history of the Royal Mile. It’s a memorable place that beautifully combines the past and present.
We recently had our wedding ceremony and drinks reception at Riddles Court and they gave us such an amazing experience. The staff are so efficient and helpful not only on the day, but from the initial booking process. They responded very quickly to any questions we had and went above and beyond to ensure our plan for the day was organised well. The venue itself is so beautiful and unique and all our guests were so impressed. They made the whole process easy and seamless. Our only regret is not having our wedding meal with riddle's court aswell. We booked elsewhere for dinner and had a really bad experience and wished we had stayed at riddles court for the whole evening. Thank you again for giving us such an easy and unforgettable experience! We will be recommending you for years to come. Mel & Cam
We got married here in October and were completely blown away by the building and its incredible team. The building is completely breathtaking, with rooms steeped in history and in a wonderful location, and has been beautifully maintained and accentuated throughout the years. Taylah and her team were completely wonderful throughout and made planning our wedding a breeze. Taylah is super detailed oriented and organised (which we badly needed!), and so calming. All the way up to the wedding we felt we were in safe hands, and on the day she and her team kept us calm and grounded. Everything ran so smoothly and we didn't have to think about a thing. It was a complete honour to be married in such a stunning building in my hometown. Edinburgh is full of history and beauty but Riddle's Court is such a unique gem. Thank you all so much for the best day ever. xxx
Door Open Days - amazing historic place to visit.
Stunning 16th century small courtyard just off the upper Royal Mile which hosted King James VI in 1598. Very well preserved and part of Edinburgh's UNESCO world heritage. Free to take a look and also operates as an events venue
