What Couples Say

The Caledonian treated me fabulously for my birthday week! Everyone was warm, welcoming and efficient. I felt like I couldn’t have made a better choice for myself. I had the king premier room with a view of the castle and the room itself was spacious, charming and clean! Large windows and they provide you binoculars to look around town. the room service was delicious, more than I anticipated, particularly the soups of the day. I like how they presented things, I felt well cared for. I also enjoyed the gym, the other amenities, and the location was perfect for my needs to explore the area. I will definitely be staying at the Caledonian again when I return to Scotland. I felt the value was definitely there for what I spent. I’m POC, and I know some POC travelers keep an eye out for reviews from other guests like themselves, I was treated nothing but warm as well as the other guests I saw attending. Huge shout out to Jay and Nathan at the info desk for all their help!

I appreciated the upgrade, and the chocolate surprise was a nice touch. The building is beautiful and very interesting due to its history. The room was nicely adorned, and had a fridge with space for leftovers. However, the room was cold and the temperature couldn’t be adjusted. That’s a fundamental miss for a high end hotel. The view was nice, but the windows need cleaning. Also, the in-room dining employee was so overloaded and stressed, it was tragic. It made me wonder, what is this man’s manager doing, and their manager / owner? Service was otherwise excellent. The in-room dining website and process needs attention, we ran into a bug. It’s clear the employees put in a lot of effort and care. The building is beautiful, breakfast was okay. The staff were very nice and I felt bad they were in a position of needing to apologize for shortcomings described another reviews. I think the owner / manager should invest in fixing these problems, because it would provide a better experience for the clients and staff and probably improve the hotel’s economics as a result, a win-win-win. I’d visit again if I could be sure I wouldn’t be cold in my room.

Pros and cons .... Spectacular looking room and outstanding view of the castle . Extremely friendly staff although it did appear some staff were new however they were jolly and efficient and helpful. The toilets in the downstairs main bar weren't great in the mens (my husband said mens ) the toilets were extremely unclean, we assume people were perhaps using the toilet who were not staying at the hotel . The toilets need checking more often. The concierge staff especially the two gents on the front door on Saturday afternoon were outstanding so welcoming and helpful. The room was beautiful and huge. I do feel they should absolutely fill the mini bar to give the hotel more of an exclusive feel. This was a bit of a disappointment. All 5 star hotels we've stayed in have a stocked mini bar . The dressing gowns aren't good they could do with longer sleeves they are not very comfortable. Also the slippers were extremely basic. I would feel for the family rooms they should add some extra options. We always like to buy or be gifted a small soft toy as a souvenir. Also many 5 star hotels offer dressing gowns and slippers for the children. All in a great stay however could benefit from some extras .

Location is just perfect...right next to the best shopping spots as well as the old town and the castle! Rooms are clean and spacious, feel luxury. I would like to mention lady Hellen in the breakfast, she was amazing! Very helpful, smily, down to earth and very professional as well! Loved meeting her!

The Caledonian Hotel is a great choice for a comfortable stay. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and the bathrooms are spotless. While the rooms are not very large, they are cozy and practical. The location is absolutely prime, making it easy to explore the city and reach major attractions. The café within the hotel is a real highlight—the food is delicious, the quality is excellent, and it’s a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal or a coffee. Overall, it offers a pleasant stay with convenience and great dining in one plac
