Thicket Priory Wedding & Events Venue

From our very first visit to Thicket Priory when Becca was there to greet us and show us around, we knew we’d found our venue and were in the very best of hands. Becca and the team were all exceptionally professional, responsive and a genuine pleasure to work with throughout the lead up to the wedding (15 months for us). Nothing was ever too much trouble – and a customer-first ethos shines through from everyone that works there. Becca’s genuine care and focus on making our day the best it could be was evident from the start and we now consider that we gained a friend (something we never intended!). We’re a middle-aged couple, neither of us had been married before (nor expected to be!) and whilst we had firm views about what we didn’t want, we needed help to guide us to what we did! Becca really listened to what was important to us while confidently guiding us with her expertise and experience, liaising directly with our suppliers as needed to ensure everything went to plan - she is an absolute asset to Thicket Priory! On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly – I don’t think we had one guest who didn’t know who Becca was – she was there for everyone without ever being asked, e.g. providing a ‘game-changing’ chat for my brother before his speech (completely off her own initiative which he will be forever grateful for). The venue itself is absolutely spectacular and it’s no exaggeration to say that all of our guests were ‘wowed’ by what the team achieved for our wedding. We had a weekend celebration and from the time we arrived on Friday to when we departed on Sunday (with a car (mainly packed by Becca!?)) the team were 1000% there for us and we felt completely supported from start to finish. THANK YOU again for making the Best Weekend Ever possible - we couldn’t have hoped for more and would wholeheartedly recommend Thicket Priory to anyone planning their wedding, without hesitation. From my very first call with Anna, all the way from Costa Rica, I just knew Thicket Priory was the one. Even before I saw it in person, which wasn’t until two months before the wedding, Anna made me feel incredibly welcome and provided me with everything I needed to feel confident and excited. The way she described the venue, like it was your own home and you were inviting your loved ones in to celebrate, really stuck with me, and that is exactly how it felt. One of the best things about Thicket is that the venue comes with a wedding coordinator, and I was lucky enough to have Anna. From the very beginning, she felt less like a coordinator and more like a friend, guiding me through every step, answering all my questions, and making sure I felt completely taken care of. During our stay, she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and it honestly could not have gone better. The venue itself is truly magical. The lake, the grounds, the bedrooms, the décor, everything was beyond stunning. There were so many details that meant our guests were never trying to find something to do — secret doors, hidden corners, and little magical touches everywhere. Having 35 bedrooms on site made it extra special because all our family and the wedding party could stay together without worrying about transport. We also loved being able to use different ceremony spaces, each one gorgeous in its own way. Our wedding was pure magic from start to finish. I could go on for days, but I am honestly lost for words at how incredible this venue is and how it made my dream wedding come to life. Thank you so much to the whole team and especially Anna, who is absolutely incredible. Maybe I am biased, but I truly believe this is the best wedding venue out there!

We had a joint 60th / 30th birthday celebration at Thicket Priory in October and had an absolutely amazing time. Every bedroom is wonderfully appointed, the staff were superb and the food was out of this world. The whole experience felt like a House Party from the 1920’s, straight out of Downton Abbey. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Recently visited Thicket Priory for the first time & would highly recommend for weddings and events. Impressively grand from the outside, it still feels cosy and intimate inside which is such a lovely mix for groups of people staying. The team were welcoming, warm and very efficient too!
