Situated 7 mins from Liverpool Street station on a quiet back street and old and elegant building with good sized rooms and facilities including a walking shower. I'm only giving 4 stars simply because the fire alarm had a fault and went off around 7a.m. and then again shortly afterwards.

The City of London Club is a stunning place – full of history and an incredible vibe. Every room is named after a notable figure, I stayed in the Pepys room. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and there’s even a European socket, so I didn’t need an adapter. Honestly, I didn’t even mind that my room didn’t have a window. Thank you for the wonderful accommodation – it was such a lovely stay.

Attended the Inter Livery Ski Championships summer drinks party on Tuesday. Delicious canapés and outstanding service. Lovely venue and great staff. We also had dinner afterwards. Top notch. Highly recommended.
