Holmewood Hall

Holmewood Hall is the most stunning venue, and one my family, and I had the pleasure of experiencing prior to it being a wedding venue. We always knew this would be the place me and my now husband would choose for our magical day. The building is steeped in so much history, and the architecture and extensive grounds speak for itself. It is truly a royal, hidden gem. Our magical day took place just over three weeks ago now, and we can’t believe it has been and gone. We were so lucky to have beautiful weather on the first day of Autumn, and golden hour provided the most incredible backdrop for outdoor photos. Despite all of this, we must add that we unfortunately experienced some flaws in the day, too. It seems that our wedding day was day three or four of a string of weddings booked in at the venue. This showed, the day felt rushed (although we appreciate there is a lot to squeeze in), and we’d had feedback from a few guests, that members of the team had been abrupt with them. You don’t expect this to happen to paying guests. The transitions throughout the day were poor. Documents (which I had put a lot of work into) were not checked prior to the day, which led to inexcusable mistakes, and a lack of attention to detail. I felt really disheartened at this point, but it was much too late to say anything. It would seem the team at Holmewood Hall were tired from the days that led to ours. We do appreciate how hard they must work, but if the venue is willing to cram in so many weddings all at once, their stamina and professionalism must be met to these standards. People spend a lot of money, and time pouring their hearts into their wedding day, and you expect this to be met rather than with false promises and reassurance that all will be fine on the day. Especially, as communication from booking the wedding day, leading right up to it was so good. We had opted to create our own centre pieces, signs and wedding decor, given to the team labelled and ready to go. So, they had a helping hand here. Towards the evening, it had turned very cold, we appreciate we were between seasons, but guests were cold and some heaters hadn’t been provided in rooms. There seemed to be a domino effect of issues arise (I won’t list them all), that we noticed as the day and evening unfolded. Given the amount of incredible reviews on here, it seems we pulled the short straw, and this doesn’t seem to be a common occurrence (thank goodness). We do hope that by sharing our experience, (and we have emailed the venue directly about this), will help future couples to ask all the right questions. That being said, the day overall was unforgettable for us for so many other reasons, and of course, there were so many positives, too. The romantic ceremony in the grand Gold Room, all rooms are undeniably gorgeous, the amazing food (special thanks to the chefs and catering team), and the brilliant dance floor, and resident DJ, Jason. The day shared with our family and closest friends, and the memories made in the most incredible setting, certainly outweighs the negatives. We do hope to return to Holmewood Hall for future events, and to celebrate the milestones.

Big shout out to all the team at our beautiful venue Holmewood Hall Wedding Venue.. Everything was just perfect ! Cant thank them all enough for thier hard work especially my wedding manager Laura.. She pulled everything off i asked for and added every little detail without forgetting a thing.. Yes I'm that bride who has a check list, Who is ocd and hates not being in control but I trusted Laura to lead and she smashed it ! Highly recommend this venue.. We got married at Holmewood Hall a few weeks ago and it truly was the most magical and special day! Even from our first visit, we fell in love with the venue and grounds, and knew we wanted to get married there. The bridal suite in particular completely blew us away, it is such a stunning room! After booking, it was great to have lots of opportunities to visit the venue during open days and showcases, as well as the included tickets to attend a dinner date and try the delicious food. All the staff we had contact with in the lead up to our day were also fantastic and extremely helpful and attentive, nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Our wedding manager Laura was amazing and helped us so much throughout the planning. We don’t know what we would’ve done without her! On the day she made sure it all ran smoothly and ensured everything we discussed beforehand was taken care of so we didn’t have to worry. All the staff on our day were incredible too and we had lots of compliments from guests about how friendly and accommodating they were throughout the day. Many said it was one of the best weddings they’d been to! It really does feel exclusively yours for the day and made it perfect for us. We want to say a big thank you to Holmewood Hall for making it the best day we could’ve wished for!

My husband and I got married here in June 2025 and could not fault anything. From the very first time we stepped foot into Holmewood, the staff could not do enough. We were given a guided tour to ensure we saw all of the venue and understood the differing packages on offer. Once booked, Lee was a consistent contact for us, always answering all of our questions, big or small and really could not have done enough for us. On the day, Lee & Laura were both on hand and we honestly had the best day as everything was covered and set out just as we had planned. Having left all my DIY's and required set up to the venue, my dreams came to life when I got there, they did everything as I'd hoped and even more! A fantastic team to make sure your day is as perfect as it should be. The food was absolutely amazing and people commented on this to us. Drinks were plentiful in the package we had and all staff working there were always happy and on hand to assist. A beautiful venue with great staff and areas to have your special day. I would definitely recommend if you are considering having your wedding here.

We could not recommend Holmewood Hall enough for anybody's wedding day. The staff were so attentive all day and there was nothing too big or too small for them to help us with. The day ran so smoothly, thanks to our wedding coordinator, Lee. The venue is absolutely stunning and makes for a beautiful background for our wedding photos. The food we chose was delicious and we liked the fact that we were able to choose two starters, two mains and two desserts for people to select from, not all venues we looked around offered this amount of choice. We also paid for the outdoor games package and this went down a treat with our guests, everyone loved the hoopla especially!
