The Old Timber Store (Wedding Venue)

We had the most incredible wedding day at The Old Timber Store and Malt in October. The venue looked absolutely beautiful and had the relaxed, fun atmosphere we’d hoped for, and so many of our guests commented on what a great space it was. The team were so supportive in the planning stages and really flexible when we wanted to do things a bit differently than they’d normally allow, like organising for our guests to get their food from the food stalls, which ended up being such a highlight. There were a few small things on the day that didn’t go quite as we expected, mainly around clarity on what the venue team would handle versus what we’d need to manage ourselves. Our wedding was at the venue’s full capacity, so perhaps that added to some of those challenges, and with a bit more guidance on what extra support might have been needed, we could have planned around that more easily. So would suggest a few more check ins with the team if you are having 50+ guests! Everything ran so smoothly once we moved over to Malt in the evening — from the personalised cocktails to the music, it all came together perfectly. Overall though, we had the best day imaginable and are so grateful to the whole team for helping us celebrate in such a beautiful and memorable setting.

We had our wedding ceremony at The Old Timber Store in Maltby Street Market and it was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, the team were incredible — friendly, organised, and we always felt they were genuinely excited to make our day amazing! Nothing was too much trouble and they did extra things to make it special. Sonya is brilliant and seamlessly sorted everything for our ceremony to make sure it was everything we wanted (even with some last minute changes!) The venue is so intimate and decorated beautifully as it is, but you can always add your own touches too. We loved that it was a venue where we could pretty much turn up and it was gorgeous as it is. The fact that it's right in the heart of the market makes it even more special, and fun! We loved leaving the archway after our ceremony and walking through the market with everyone cheering us, it was just amazing and a moment we will remember forever. If you're looking for a unique, romantic venue for an intimate (stress-free!) wedding then we 100% recommend booking The Old Timber Store. A few archways down is MALT where we had our wedding party too, the venues work together perfectly and it means you get to soak up the whole atmosphere of the market too.

A great, quirky venue for a small, alternative wedding. We were lucky enough to photograph a wedding at this gorgeous arch earlier this year and it was such a great and versatile space. the fairly light backdrop is perfect for a romantic, cande-lit feel wedding ceremony. Having numerous food vendors right outside also makes catering super easy for couples who want the balance of epic location, and easy wedding planning! You're also super close for some great London vibe locations for your photos!

As soon as we saw The Old Timber Store during one of their open evenings, we knew it would be the perfect venue for us and decided to book it straight away. We were dreaming of a small London wedding with a unique, cozy and intimate vibes and the space was just perfect for our 30 guests. Sonya was fantastic and helped me so much in organising the whole day, from providing recommendations for the vendors we needed, to helping coordinate every aspect of the day. Even for a small wedding there are so many details to organise and it's crucial to have an experienced and knowledgeable venue manager to make everything run smoothly! We were so incredibly happy with how our day turned out, and received so many compliments from friends and family. I truly wish I could re-live it all over again. Beautiful venue, lovely staff, a great experience We used The Old Timber Store for our wedding ceremony before moving on for our (larger) reception. We found the venue was relatively good value for money for a short ceremony and a drink for just under 60 guests. We used it in January and it was the most gorgeous, cosy atmosphere, really suited our vibe without having to spend extra to add many decorations/flowers etc - the existing lighting and dried flowers looked beautiful. The staff were excellent - Sonya was our main contact and was very responsive before and right up to our big day. She was calm, gave great advice and was a joy to have as part of our day. Would highly recommend this venue and their team.
