Photographed a wedding here last weekend. Super nice venue, obviously great for light and looks cool. drinks on the deck outside are a great guests experience and you are never too far away from some cool photo spots in Manchester.

The eden project if the bar was incredibly slow. Nice place. Slow bar.

This event sounded great on paper, so my friends and I booked a table for our New Year’s Eve plans. Once we got there, we were offered prosecco or beer for free- the free drink included in our ticket, which was a good start. As soon as we got inside, we went to order more drinks just to find the prices were honestly extortionate. We spent almost £30 on a bottle of beer and a vodka mixer, cocktails were around £15, and the food (a hotdog in a bun, I might add) was £12. But we thought, it’s fine, let’s just make the most of it. Wrong. The chairs supplied were built completely incorrectly- we found screws on the floor, screws coming out of the sides, and they were extremely unstable. Most of us barely sat at the table we all paid extra for, and on top of that, 3 of us who did sit ended up falling backwards due to the instability of the chairs and the extremely wet floor. Staff did not come over to see if everyone was okay, except the first time, where they made a joke about my friend being ‘too drunk’ (bear in mind, we’d all had 1-2 drinks at this point). My friend, who had ordered the overpriced hotdog, had waited 45 minutes with nothing. When she asked the bar, they told her the kitchen was shut and there was nothing they could do, they did not refund them either. They ordered this an hour before the kitchen closed, too. So we’re standing around the table, not daring to sit, and we decide to head to the ‘dance floor’ instead. The DJ was in a severely bad mood, he would take requests from multiple people but when others asked, he’d shoot a dirty look and ignore them. He also missed the New Years countdown - it was 12:03 when he started doing the 10 second countdown, which is the entire point of the night. The dome itself was leaking from the roof, so it was dripping freezing cold rain all night, which absolutely ruined the atmosphere. The floor was sopping wet, which didn’t help with the awful chairs (stools), so the minute we’d finished the (late) countdown, we headed out to try and see the fireworks before going home. Bear in mind, we’d had a storm warning for days, and they did nothing to cover the outside areas - it was pouring rain, with no cover at all. They had days to figure something out, so the dome itself was completely overbooked without the outside space - we were like sardines. They advertise this as a ‘rooftop party - great view’. This is a complete lie, you can absolutely hear the fireworks, but you have no view as you’re surrounded by skyscrapers blocking all viewpoints. Most of the staff were very nice, but nothing could save the night. We headed home extremely wet, hurt, sober due to the pricing, and absolutely unhappy. We had a much better time at home on the balcony, with a much better view. Avoid this overpriced, underfunded scam at all costs, even when it’s not new years- you’ll be dodging a bullet!
