The Old School Rooms

The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. A wonderful family run business who make you feel welcome and relaxed from the get go. They really took in everything I said and made my vision a dream come true. Nothing was ever too much trouble, the whole staff went above and beyond. It sounds silly, but I was a little sad when my time with Dave, Trisha and Old School Rooms came to an end. We had a twilight wedding with a grazing table and a hot buffet with the hog roast. Everything was 10/10. The guests were extremely impressed. Delicious, well presented and absolutely loads of it. We had endless compliments on the food. All staff that worked on my wedding night were fabulous, Molly in particular, what a diamond! I will recommend this stunningly beautiful venue forever more. 5 stars!! 11/10 Mr & Mrs Mills

We’re really pleased with how our big day went last month. Dave and Trish ensured everything went as planned, from start to finish we loved every moment and we’re pretty sure all our guests did too.

We got married here on Easter Saturday 2025. We had such a fabulous day. Dave and Trish were so helpful, they completely took the stress away and let us enjoy ourselves. The package was great value for money and they recommended a number of local suppliers for any extras. These were all fabulous and really made the day. We had visitors from as far afield as Canada and we wanted to make sure it was worth the trip for them. We all had a day to remember. Highly recommend this for your wedding, or any large event.

Perfect day ! When we first visited the school rooms I was blown away by how gorgeous the venue was . We was welcomed by Dave and Trish and just got a good feeling from the start . The package we picked was unbelievable cant believe how good value for money was compared to other venues we had looked at . On the day Trish and her staff couldnt do enough for us every request was met to make sure everything ran smoothly and perfect. What can I say about the food !! All my guest was commenting about how amazing the food was and how well fed they was 🤣. Overall staff was amazing ! Venue was beautiful ! Food & drink was great ! We loved our day and will hopefully be using the old school rooms again in the future x

Where to begin. We spent a very long time looking at different venues and options for our wedding. The team at the Old School Rooms were the first to make an impression that made us feel like the day could be completely ours without the need to spend a fortune. Every step of planning was made so easy for us, we had limitless choice of how the day could be as well as guidance on all aspects of making things personal and special. An absolute 10/10 for reassurance and planning. When our special day finally came, there was not a single hitch or stress that we were aware of. The bridal suite was fully equipped for the ladies and there was a space put aside for the gents arrival. Even at this late stage, the team made sure everyone was happy, ready and reassured. The ceremony was conducted by registrars from Rochdale MBC, the communication in arranging a proper service was crystal clear and the great relationship between the team at OSR and the registrars made things even easier. Following the ceremony, there was ample opportunity for some great photos as well as some of the best food I’ve ever eaten at an occasion like this. The quality, presentation and volume of canapés was amazing. The only pain for us was narrowing down our choices as everything we sampled was so good! The wedding breakfast meal was perfect, we struggled to make a choice on what to serve but the teams recommendations were of a very high standard. Again, our only struggle was narrowing down the vast choice that we had. In the end, we agreed on a Greek style meal which satisfied annd impressed everyone. Moving into the evening, our DJ (DJ Flash) and his relationship with the venue were of immeasurable value. It’s clear that these guys enjoy working together and understand how to make things special. Our choices of music were all there and we made the right choice in leaving the flow of music in the DJs hands. The music flowed perfectly through the day and night. Our evening buffet was all BBQ themed and I don’t think there was a person there who didn’t truly enjoy it. Considerstion was taken to be inclusive to guests of different faiths and nobody was left hungry. The true measure is our memories of the day and we can honestly say that there’s not a negative we can make an example of. Absolutely every aspect of our wedding was made personal and tailored to our needs and desires. Drinks are fairly priced, the food was of the highest standard and the warmth and guidance of the team are second to none. We would whole heartedly recommend the Old School Rooms for a wedding, the cost, planning and execution of the day could not have been more perfect for us. Thank you so so much!
